Financial Education

What is Financial Education?

Financial Education is empowering individuals and communities to live financially independent and prosperous lives.

Why Financial Education?

Financial Education across the K-12 curriculum begins with students’ identities and memberships in our communities, extends into disciplinary inquiry-based, culturally sustaining instruction that educates for broad economic inclusion, mobility, critical examination of existing systems, and financially secure individuals and communities.

Informed Financial Decision Making is Financial Empowerment.

Chicago Public Schools, in partnership with the Children First Fund and Chicago’s community of financial education partners are promoting a financial education ecosystem that aligns public, private, and community stakeholders and investments around a strategy that integrates a systems approach to financial education.
